    The Wolf of Wall Street

    Why we’re excited
Legendary director Martin Scorsese re-teams with Leonardo DiCaprio for the true tale of Jordan Belfort, a stockbroker who made millions in the ’90s by swindling Americans out of their hard-earned dollars. With a sprawling cast including Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Favreau and (yes) Joanna Lumley, it’s an epic satire of greed, sex, drugs and money. Think ‘Goodfellas’ goes to the boardroom.
    What could go wrong?
Well, the film lasts for three hours, which is an awfully long time to spend in the company of a bunch of devious, disreputable fratboys. In the past, Scorsese has been accused of going a bit too easy on his unpleasant protagonists, be they Mafiosi, wife-beating boxers or corrupt cops, and ‘The Wolf’ has taken flack for its depiction of Wall Street corruption as one big coke-fuelled party.
‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ opens in UK cinemas on January 17.
